Well...on Friday night, Deb and I drove 80+ miles to Milford, CT (my hometown) to see the reunited Obsession! This band has not performed live in almost 20 years. They have been one of my favorite bands for a long time and their album Scarred for Life is incredible! We took a lot of pictures, and even had the chance to speak with the band after the show. Drummer Jay Mezias was very cool as were the rest of the band. Jay gave us a copy of their new CD Carnival of Lies, which is absolutely amazing!!! As of right now, it is my favorite metal release of 2006!!! It was announced on stage that Obsession is currently working on a tour with Alcatrazz. Hopefully all goes well in that department, and we see them on the road soon! If you have never heard of these guys check out their website at www.theobsession.net . Listen to some of the sound clips, especially the title track from the latest CD Carnival of Lies. You will not be disappointed!!!

I checked out your articles for the shows you covered...great work and pics! We have kind of limited our shows we've gone to this year as money has been kind of tight and with all this crap happening with my back. Deb and I are kind of thinking about possibly flying to Germany next year to go to Wacken Open Air. As for Obsession...they were on Metal Blade records and put out only 3 albums (4 if you count the new one) Marshall Law, Scarred For Life and Methods Of Madness. The new one is Carnival Of Lies. Their vocalist, Mike Vescera, went on to do vocal duties for two Loudness albums and two Yngwie albums....
