December 2nd we went to Philadelphia to see Blind Guardian at The Trocadero. It was our first time ever going to that venue, most shows we see are at BB Kings in NYC and the staff there are FANTASTIC!!! GREAT people to deal with and all very helpful. The reason we ended up in Philly was that our contact at Nuclear Blast records could only get one of us on the guestlist for the NYC show and when we finally went to buy one ticket, the show was sold out. We called Nuclear Blast and were told that if we went to Philly that we could both be on the guestlist and we could get an interview and photo passes. We got down to Philly about 5 as we were told to be at the venue between 5 - 7 for our interview. We asked the girl at the box office if she could get Henry (the bands tour manager) for us. She said "all interview times have been changed to 7 and I have no idea who Henry is and you can't wait inside" Then she proceeded to lock the door behind us. After about 1/2 hr she left...got on her bike and rode away. Finally about 6 another person showed up at the box office and we explained the situation to him. He went and got Henry for us and Henry had been waiting for us since like 5 for the interview!!! Thanks to the unhelpful emo looking chick that was at the box office, we almost missed our interview!!! Other then that we had a couple problems with one security guy when we were going into the photo pit for Leaves Eyes (the opening band) We ended up not being able to take pics of them, just Blind Guardian. Seems like The Troc. could learn a thing or two about how to treat press people....

I never know how any event is going to go through since so much of this is last minute details and we often deal with people who are juggling several things at the same time. I am continually surprised and come home with better stories in the end.
